German Hockey Federation (DHB)

Hockey is one of Germany’s most successful team sports and is also gaining in global importance. As a global sustainability partner of the German Hockey Federation (DHB), Wilo has supported the sport’s development since 2026 and, as part of this partnership, backs a range of future-forward DHB projects on and off the pitch.

Partnership in hockey

The partnership is an expression of shared values: team spirit, international cooperation and a long-term perspective. Together, Wilo and the DHB are committed to supporting hockey and raise its profile worldwide. In addition to sport-related activities, the partnership also involves a range of planned sustainability projects.

Wilo is the German Hockey Federation’s global sustainability partner

Since signing a multi-year cooperation agreement in 2026, Wilo has been the official global sustainability partner of the German Hockey Federation. The partnership was formalised as part of the ground-breaking ceremony for the National Hockey Training Centre in Mönchengladbach.

The partnership focuses on promoting sustainable development in hockey. Wilo assists the DHB in implementing international sustainability projects and, as a global water technology provider, contributes its expertise in the areas of water and energy scarcity, building services and resource-efficient technologies.

Profile in international elite sport

The partnership between Wilo and the German Hockey Federation is also visible in international competitions. The Wilo logo features on the kits of the German national hockey teams, including both the men’s and women’s senior squads as well as the Special Hockey Team. In this way, Wilo supports the teams at national and international competitions and helps to raise their profile on the global hockey stage.

Hockey connects people across continents. For Wilo, as a global company, this partnership creates opportunities for dialogue with international stakeholders in the world of hockey. At the same time, as part of the agreed sponsorship arrangements, Wilo supports the German national hockey teams and other activities organised by the DHB.

Joint hockey projects

Wilo is helping the DHB develop sustainable structures in hockey, for instance, through projects that combine environmental responsibility, social engagement and long-term development. These include activities such as equipping association buildings with resource-efficient technologies. The partnership is therefore in line with Wilo’s corporate strategy of developing solutions to global challenges.

International cooperation

Field hockey is among the most popular sports in many regions of the world, particularly in India. This international dimension also plays an important role in the partnership between Wilo and the DHB.

Promoting hockey in India is a shared priority. Plans include programmes for professional exchange, training partnerships and joint initiatives to develop youth hockey. In this way, the partners aim to achieve global impact beyond the pitch and contribute their expertise to regions with significant development potential.

Supporting youth talent in hockey

Long-term sporting success requires the development of youth talent. That is why Wilo and the German Hockey Federation are working together to promote the development of youth hockey.

Training programmes, international exchange schemes and joint initiatives are designed to support young players from an early age. The aim is to strengthen the hockey in the long term and create new opportunities for future generations.
